What we collect on this website
The marketing site you are reading now does not set advertising cookies and does not use third-party trackers. We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to count visits in aggregate. Your IP address is processed transiently to deliver the page and protect the service from abuse.
What we collect in the application
When you create a SendMerlin account we store your name, email address, password (hashed), workspace details, and the content you create. When you import subscribers, you remain the controller of that data and we act as your processor: we store and process your subscriber lists only to provide the service, and never sell or share them. Our Data Processing Agreement governs this processing.
Email sending data
To provide delivery reporting we process message events such as sends, bounces, opens, clicks, complaints, and unsubscribes. Consent records for double opt-in (timestamp and confirmation details) are stored so you can demonstrate compliance.
Where data lives
SendMerlin runs on infrastructure in the European Union. Emails are delivered through Amazon Web Services (SES) in the eu-central-1 (Frankfurt) region. When you use AI features in the application, the relevant campaign content is processed by Anthropic (Claude) as a sub-processor to generate the response.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can request access, correction, export, or deletion of your personal data, and you can object to or restrict processing. Write to [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Retention
Account data is kept while your account is active and deleted on request or after account closure. Suppression records (unsubscribes and complaints) are kept longer because deleting them would risk emailing people who opted out.
AI-generated content
The application includes AI features (campaign drafts, subject line ideas, translations, spam checks, and report summaries) powered by Claude, a model by Anthropic. Their output is AI-generated: it appears as a suggestion that you review and edit before anything is sent, and it can contain mistakes. For every AI request we log the time, the feature used, and the model that produced the output. Nothing you send to the model is used to train it.
